GRANNY RUTH’S CHOCOLATE SQUARES
4 sqs Bakers unsweetened chocolate
1/2 lb butter
2 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 1/2 ups cake flour
pinch salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp lemon extract
3/4 cups chopped walnuts
- In double boiler melt chocolate and butter. In a bowl beat eggs. Add sugar. Beat more. Add melted chocolate mix and flavorings.
- Sift flour once. Add powder and salt. Alternate mixing flour and nuts into wet mixture. Bake in 8x13 pan (1 1/2 inches deep) at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar. DO NOT OVERBAKE!! They should be super moist inside and better to undercook then overcook.
